AdSpy alternative in 2026: an operator's honest take

AdSpy charges $149/month for Facebook-only data. In 2026, ecommerce runs on Meta, TikTok, Instagram, and email. Here's what operators are switching to.

AdSpy alternative in 2026: an operator's honest take

If you're still paying $149/month for AdSpy, you're paying for Facebook. That was a fair deal in 2019, but in 2026 it's a blind spot.

This is for operators who want to see what competitors run on Meta, TikTok, Instagram, and email in one session. No stacked subscriptions, no four browser tabs.

The $149/month Facebook trap

AdSpy's base plan is $149/month. For that, you get ads from Meta and Instagram. That's it.

It was built when Facebook was the only acquisition channel that mattered. Today, half the winners I track run more budget on TikTok than on Meta, and many of them scale through email flows and Google Shopping that a Facebook-only tool will never show you.

The search data backs it up: "AdSpy alternative", "adspy vs minea", and "cheap adspy alternative" are all climbing. Operators aren't angry about the price, they're angry about the coverage.

What competitor research looks like now

A winning DTC brand in 2026 doesn't run on one channel.

A brand can have 100 active Meta ads and drive most of its revenue from TikTok organically or from email flows you never see. If you only spy on their Meta ads, you'll copy the wrong creative and wonder why your ROAS is half of theirs.

What I want from a research tool:

  • Every ad they run on Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and Google, in one search
  • Their email flows (welcome, cart recovery, winback)
  • Real traffic and revenue estimates, not just ad counts
  • Where they spend in Europe, not just the US
  • A view of their creative tests over time, so I can see what scales and what dies

AdSpy gives me the first 20% of that.

The tool I open first every morning

I'll put my cards on the table. I open Brandsearch first every morning.

The reason isn't loyalty. Discovery pulls Meta, TikTok, Instagram, and email ads in the same search bar, and I type a niche, filter by format, sort by how long the ad has been running, and see what's working this week across every channel at once.

Then I click any brand and land in Brand Analysis. Traffic trends, revenue estimates, bestsellers, landing pages, email flows, Google Ads, all in tabs inside one session.

It replaces four tools I used to pay for separately. The ad library replaces AdSpy, the store intelligence replaces SimilarWeb, the tech stack view replaces Koala Inspector, and the landing page history replaces a Notion doc full of screenshots.

Price vs. intelligence: the usual suspects

Search "AdSpy alternative" and the same four names come up. I've used most of them, so here's the operator ranking.

1. Brandsearch, my daily driver.

Meta, TikTok, Instagram, email, and Google ads in one search. Plus Brand Analysis tabs for traffic, revenue, landing pages, creative tests, and email flows on any Shopify store.

2. Minea.

Solid Meta and TikTok coverage. Decent filters. Weaker on the store intelligence side: you'll see the ads but not the traffic trend or revenue estimate behind them.

3. BigSpy.

Big database, low price. The data feels shallow once you dig in, with a lot of dead ads and thin filters.

4. Dropispy.

Built for dropshippers hunting single-product stores. If you're not in that lane, it won't cover what you need.

5. PiPiADS.

TikTok-specific. Useful if TikTok is your only channel, but that's a narrow reason to pay for a standalone subscription in 2026.

Every tool from 2 to 5 does one job. Brandsearch sits at position 1 because it does all of their jobs in one session and adds the store intelligence layer.

How to audit a competitor in 15 minutes

Here's the workflow I run on a new competitor. It takes about 15 minutes and replaces a stack of tools that used to cost me $400/month.

Step 1: open the brand in Brand Analysis.

Drop the competitor's domain into the Overview tab. Traffic trend, ad scaling graph, revenue estimate, and active ad count all live there, and thirty seconds in I already know whether they're scaling or bleeding.

Step 2: pull every ad across every platform.

Search the brand inside Discovery. Every Meta, TikTok, Instagram, and email ad shows in the same view, and you sort by running days to separate the tests from the winners.

Step 3: read the landing page history.

Most ad research ignores the landing page, and that's where most of the conversion delta actually lives. The Landing Pages tab shows screenshot history for the last 90 days.

Step 4: check EU ad spend if you sell in Europe.

Meta publishes actual spend per EU market. If a brand is spending EUR 2,400/day across France, Germany, and the Netherlands, that's hard proof they're profitable on Meta in Europe, and you can plan your entry around it.

Step 5: save the winners and move on.

Keep a swipe file per niche. Anything worth stealing goes in with a one-line note.

Five steps. One session. No stacked subscriptions.

What you actually see that AdSpy misses

Concrete example. I was researching a fitness supplement brand last month. On AdSpy, I'd have seen 40 Meta ads and called it done.

In Brandsearch, I saw:

  • 40 Meta ads (same as AdSpy would show)
  • 120 TikTok organic videos driving traffic, with engagement data
  • 9 Instagram Reels repurposed from TikTok
  • 6 email flows: welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase
  • Real traffic: 380K monthly visits, with the trend line showing +45% growth in 90 days
  • Revenue estimate: $1.2M-$2.4M/month
  • A tech stack using Klaviyo, Recharge, and a specific upsell app I recognized

The Meta ads were the smallest part. If I'd optimized against just those, I would have copied a channel that represented maybe 25% of their revenue and missed the whole retention engine.

That's why "$149/month for Facebook only" isn't a bargain anymore.

Free options if you want to test before you buy

If you're not ready to pay for anything yet, start with the Brandsearch Chrome Extension. It's free, it lives in your browser toolbar, and every Shopify store you land on shows instant traffic, ads, tech stack, and estimated revenue.

After that, the honest free list:

  • Meta Ad Library: free, direct from Meta, but no filters worth using. Good for one-off checks.
  • TikTok Creative Center: free, shows top-performing TikTok ads by industry. Limited history.
  • Google Ads Transparency Center: free, surface-level, no spend estimates.

None of these replace a real research workflow. They're reference tools for verifying something you found elsewhere.

Summary

Here's the short version I'd give a friend.

  1. Brandsearch Discovery: the one tool I'd keep if I could only pick one. Meta + TikTok + Instagram + email + Google, all in one search.
  2. Brandsearch Brand Analysis: traffic, revenue, landing pages, creative tests, email flows on any Shopify store.
  3. Brandsearch EU Adspend: the feature that finds untapped European markets before your competitors do.
  4. Brandsearch Chrome Extension: the free starting point. Every store you visit, instant intel.

AdSpy was the right tool for 2019. In 2026, $149/month for Facebook-only data is a tax on not having looked for better options.

Open Discovery, search your top competitor, and see what you've been missing.
